Why going to the gym is more than you know?

Usual suspects (by the usual suspect):

  • Helps in maintaining a healthy body weight

  • Improves muscle strength and tone

  • Boosts energy levels

  • Reduces risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure

  • Improves cardiovascular health

  • Enhances mental health and reduces stress

  • Helps in better sleep patterns

  • Increases flexibility and balance

  • Provides an opportunity to socialize and make new friends

Some more juice for me that might also apply to you:

  • It is free. Even if it's not free, it's cost-effective for good barbell training. We're not talking about one that is preferred by the Instagram community though

  • I suck. It's part of a personal push

  • Helps build a routine, the need to go at the same time; while getting fresh air, the need to go out/commute

  • Helps waste less time since there is nothing else to do but exercise. Doing one thing at a time rocks

  • Helps focus on the core application of the proper set, not the phenotype

  • It's busy/crowded and the best time is after the morning rush (i.e. 10-11 am), which helps reap the benefits the whole day. Normally, I would do it after work/day which would have a smaller window to leverage benefits

  • Helps learn the right way to exercise. While not strong enough, it's prone to develop wrong/damaging patterns and when it's carved in the brain, it will stick there and hard to mutate it. On the other hand, somebody who knows their shit in the gym can teach the right form from the beginning, way easier

  • It has a high signal-to-noise ratio to learn about discounts, trends, generations, expectations, etc.

  • If something goes wrong (i.e. pushing too hard), there are people around to help or vice versa to do a good deed

  • A tremendous number of options are available for different body parts. Courageous to swim?

  • There are a lot of beautiful and motivating people around. Environment matters

  • The grit of people around is more than average and some are exceptional so are successful people in their domains

  • The diversity of people around is also surprisingly mind-blowing, the luck surface of serendipity is wide

  • If team members know each other well, the routine is in place and the training program isn't very tough, then it might be a great standup; casual & friendly
